The Cause

Carnival Cocktails for Cancer is dedicated to the memory of the late, great and fabulous Jennifer Gardiner aka Jen Unplugged.

Jen passed away in February of 2014 after a courageous battle with colorectal cancer. After her diagnosis Jen met this terrible disease head on, and began actively raising awareness for the importance of clinical trials in finding a cure. Jen also became an inspiration to others fighting their own battles with cancer, starring in a documentary entitled “The Uplife Project” where she shared her story and sought to help others battling this terrible diseas.. Jen encouraged others to “live fiercely, to live out loud, and to be present in every second of life”, which is a motto she herself lived courageously until her last days.

Jen’s legacy lives on in many ways, including continued fundraising to support research to continue the fight for a cure.

All proceeds from Carnival Cocktails for Cancer will be be directed to support important research here in alberta through the Canadian Cancer Society. This year we are proud to be directing our funds to support the research of Dr. Stephen Robbins and his team at the University of Calgary. Dr. Robbins is one of Canada's leading Cancer researchers and this particular project is supporting his current research on stopping the spread or metastasis  of Cancer cells. Please see the "Canadian Cancer Society" link above for more details.

Thank you in advance for your support!
